A weekend that might have changed world history.
Based on a real-life incident, this world premiere work is set during a weekend in a suite at the fabled Beverly Hills Hotel in 1968, three months after the Six-Day War. When it was announced that American-Jewish star actor Barbra Streisand would be romantically linked with Egyptian film star Omar Sharif in Funny Girl, both Israel and Egypt threatened to boycott the film. In this fictionalized 'what if' story, a studio movie executive and a publicity executive host an impromptu peace talk with an Israeli and Egyptian diplomat. As the diplomats debate the controversy over the movie, the issue of the Middle East conflict lands front and center. Even as their relationship takes a surprising turn, the still very relevant question remains: can their countries ever find peace?
