Pomona College Orchestra

Pomona College Orchestra The Pomona College Orchestra, under the baton of Eric Lindholm, welcomes the 2018 Concerto Competition winner, tuba player Oliver Dubon (PO ’20), a student of Stephen Klein. Mr. Dubon will perform Vaughan Williams’ Tuba Concerto.

The Orchestra, is one of the largest and most prestigious performing organizations on campus, and has a long tradition as an important creative and cultural outlet for the students, faculty, and staff of The Claremont Colleges. Although the majority of its members are Pomona College students, the orchestra also has representatives from Scripps, Harvey Mudd, Claremont McKenna, and Pitzer colleges, as well as the Claremont Graduate University, other local colleges, and the greater Claremont community.

The conductor is award-winning Professor Eric Lindholm. He has conducted both in the United States and abroad, for orchestra and opera, in a broad range of repertoire. He has appeared with the Festival Strings Lucerne (Switzerland), the Folkwang Kammerorchester Essen (Germany), the State Symphony Orchestra of São Paulo (Brazil), the Bulgarian National Radio Symphony, and other orchestras in Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Poland, and the United States.

The home of the PCO is the beautiful, Bridges Hall of Music, on the Pomona College campus. The orchestra not only performs on this magnificent stage but also has the great privilege of rehearsing there regularly.
