The Pomona College Choir’s Fall concert features Tarik O’Regan's Triptych (with 8 percussionists) along with additional selections from Central America and Spain. The ensemble, led by Donna M. Di Grazia, boasts a membership of approximately 70-80 auditioned singers per semester, with student, faculty, and staff representatives from across the Claremont Colleges.
The centerpiece of the Pomona College Choir’s Fall 2025 concert, under direction of Donna M. Di Grazia, will be Tarik O’Regan’s Triptych for mixed chorus and percussion. This seventeen-minute work features texts from a wide variety of literary sources and cultural traditions, including excerpts from texts by John Milton, Rumi, William Wordsworth, and others, along with short passages from the Jewish Reform prayerbook Shaarei Teshuva (“Gates of Repentance”), and from an ancient Persian text linked to Zoroastrianism, the ninth-century Indian Bundahishn. The Choir will be joined by eight guest percussionists, all of whom have studied with Pomona College’s percussion teacher and principal percussionist of the LA Opera Orchestra, Theresa Dimond. Paired with this work will be various shorter pieces from Central America, Spain, and Portugal. Don't miss this one-of-a-kind performance!
