Palm Springs Dance Festival Gala PerformanceFeaturing a variety of dance genres, arranged to astound and delight!  Award winning dance talent from Coast to Coast with international talent from Italy and France.  Each company and choreographer brings top talent and unique choreography to the Gala Night performance of the Palm Springs Dance Festival.

Upgrade Option: 7:00pm Pre-show sparkling wine reception.   Meet the festival's artistic director, and some of the incredible choreographers and dancers performing in the evening's gala.  Free flowing sparkling wine, an assortment of deliciously infused waters, appetizers, and lovely live musical accompaniment, located in the Musuem's Meyerman Sculpture Garden.  Must be 21 or over to attend.

Talent Line-Up - (Alphabetical Order):   

Douglas Graham, Creative Director -  Doug performed on Broadway and in National Tours of CHICAGO, DANCIN', CATS, and PHANTOM OF THE OPERA  "A true joy to behold, in every sense of the word. Miss him at your peril." - Gina Zollman, "Cabaret Reviewer", formerly of "The Beverly Hills Outlook".

Invertigo Dance Theater, Laura Karlin, Creative Director - Praised for their “poetic  flights of fancy” by the LA times and as “one of the top trend-setting companies in Los Angeles” by Dance Spirit Magazine.  Among many awards, Invertigo Dance theater was 1st place winner of the 2016 McCallum Theater’s Professional Choreography Festival.

Jamie Nichols, Choreographer and Curator for the Brand Dance Series    Recipient of 6 Lester Horton Dance Awards for Outstanding Achievement.  Jamie brings a breath-taking original piece to the festival.   “A memorable performance for its depth of feeling” “remarkable gestural detail” “galvanizing” from Lewis Segal of The Los Angeles Times.

Lorenzo Pagano, Italian Choreographer, lead soloist for Martha Graham Dannce After winning a dance scholarship with Martha Graham Dance,  Lorenzo joined the company in 2012 has been the lead dancer in many Martha Graham productions.  Lorenzo received the Italian International “Male Rising Star” award in 2016.  Lorenzo brings his original choreography in the style of Martha Graham, featuring Martha Graham dancer, Niccolo Orsolani, from Torino, Italy.

M/Motions, Manuel Vignoulle, French Choreographer/Creative Director, featuring Rena Butler of Hubbard Street.   Technique, athleticism, and playfulness are all characteristics that shape the movement  of Manuel's work.  Manuel's work is highly praise. Manuel was the 1st place winner at the 2017  McCallum Theater’s Professional Choreography Festival.  “Like strands of DNA wrapping and unwrapping around each other, their duet unfolds with a fluidity that is aquiline and a force that is driving and earthy.” Critical Dance.Org.  

Nickerson-Rossi Dance, Michael Nickerson-Rossi Choreographer/Creative Director  Nickerson-Rossi's work is filled with intricate complexities.  “...expect a compelling, provocative and dramatic program presented by beautifully athletic and artistic male and female dancers”  Will Dean – Desert Sun – Palm Springs, CA.   “Nickerson-Rossi’s work contributed to be the most romantic work of the festival” Critic Charles Donelan - Santa Barbara, CA.  This year Nickerson-Rossi brings new, sophisticated and emotive works to beguile including dancers from both Nickerson-Rossi Dance East, and Nickerson-Rossi Dance West.

Versa Style Dance Co., Jackie Lopez & Leigh Foaad, Creative Directors As a mainstay of Hip-hop culture, Lopez and Foaad have traveled to several Hip-hop dance battles nationally and internationally, winning many victory titles in places such as Korea, Italy, Canada and France. The originality, musicality, and energy of this dance company is awe-inspiring.   Named LA Weekly’s “Best in LA”  in 2015  and called “original, organic and extremely musical” by Jeff Slayton, SeeDance.com.
