 The 17th Annual New Original Works Festival continues with a program of works by DaEun Jung Maria Garcia and Samantha Mohr Genna Moroni.
This year, for the first time ever, the New Original Works (NOW) Festival at the Roy and Edna Disney/CalArts Theater (REDCAT) moved to the fall, spread across three weekends, each featuring a triple bill of premieres. The 17th annual festival, a celebration of Los Angeles’ vibrant community of artists creating contemporary performance works, concludes Jan. 28 - 30, 2020. Presented virtually from the REDCAT stage, Week Three will apply chance operation to classical Korean dance in dancer-choreographer DaEun Jung’s Byoul Part 1: 246 at 40 bring to life the history and myth of the Trojan War with a Vatican tour guide in Maria Garcia and Samantha Mohr’s Laocoön with Cabiria at 9 and invite viewers into the labyrinth of female relationships as expressed through visceral movement in Genna Moroni’s More.
