Tenor Luke Norvell in concert

Tenor Luke Norvell in concertIndependent Opera Company is proud to present as part of their 2021 season IOC Stars in Concert, a series of six beautifully produced concerts that showcase some of the great soloists who have appeared in IOC productions over the years.

In this, the third concert in this exciting new series, IOC presents the rising new star of opera, tenor Luke Norvell in an electrifying performance including selections from his signature roles.

This exciting program begins with the cavatina sung by the title character of Gounod’s famous opera Faust, in which Faust celebrates his new-found youth by serenading the innocent Marguerite. Moving through the dreamy poet of Tosti's lovely Belle Époche-era salon piece "Ideale" to the passionate Prince from Rusalka by Dvorák to the triumphant "Dein ist mein ganzes Herz" ("You are my heart's delight") sung by another Prince in perhaps the most famous tune of all Lehár’s music coming from  operetta Das Land des Lächelns, Luke also treats us to his show-stopping interpretations of two famous Verdi tenor roles, Alfredo from La Traviata who is happily in love (at least, at this point in the opera), and the careless and lascivious Duke from Rigoletto.

Luke Norvell resides in Santa Clarita, CA. Roles from the 2019-2020 season include Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus with both Clyde Opera Group and Independent Opera Company, Alfredo in La Traviata (cover) with Landmark Opera, King Kaspar in Amahl and the Night Visitors, Azaël in The Prodigal Son (cover), Prince Charming in Cinderella with Lyric Opera of Orange County, the title role in Faust (cover) with Valley Opera and Performing Arts, Die Knusperhexe in Hänsel und Gretel, Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni with LAH-SOW, and Count Vaudémont (role study) with Eurasia Festival. On the concert stage, he has sung the tenor solos for Mozart's Requiem and Handel's Messiah with The Master's University Singers and Orchestra.
