A 2010 laureate of the prestigious Fondation Marcel Bleustein-Blanchet in France, violinist Etienne Gara was invited to participate in the Perlman Music Program in New York in 2009 and 2010. Later he joined violinist Itzhak Perlman for the winter residency of the festival in Sarasota, Florida and for a tour in Israel. Mr. Gara has performed throughout Europe and North America in prominent halls such as Jordan Hall in Boston, the Marigny Theatre in Paris, the Wiener Saal and the Marmor Saal of the Mirabell Palace in Salzburg. Among several prizes, Mr. Gara won the Music Live Now competition, created by Sir Yehudi Menuhin. Born in Paris to a French mother and Hungarian father, Étienne Gara studied at the Conservatoire National de Région de Boulogne-Billancourt, continued his studies at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg, and completed his Performer Diploma at Indiana University. He earned his Master of Music at New England Conservatory, under renowned pedagogue and violinist Donald Weilerstein. Mr. Gara is currently under the tutelage of celebrated violinist Midori, at the University of Southern California.
