By 2010 Berlin Opera Prize winner Peter Michael von der Nahmer & Cynthia Lewis Ferrell.  Sponsored by KUSC Radio and Pepperdine University.

2007: Guatemala's rainforest was a hotbed for shady foreign adoptions. Money was fabulous gangs violent child theft and murder, casual - all while poverty-stricken Maya girls, “kangaroo mothers,” bred babies for sale and conjured hope in the jungle.

The fact-based "El Canguro" is written by 2010 Berlin Opera Prize winner Peter Michael von der Nahmer and 2006 Jerome Lawrence Prize winner Cynthia Lewis Ferrell.

Featuring Matthew Kellaway, Jillian Lee, Juan Castaneda, Guillermo Gonzalez, Andrew Pearson, Megan Gillespie, Joel Balzun, Alison Campagna, Renee Rulon Cortez, Marc Ginsburg, Maggie Lane, Zachary Singerman, and Jay Stephenson.  Music direction by Melanie Emelio and Jake Anthony.  Conducted by Tyler Kimmel.

El Canguro is sponsored  KUSC Radio and Pepperdine University, and presented by the 2011 California International Theatre Festival.

One night only, no intermission.  Public parking available.
