 A Singular They, written by Aliza Goldstein and directed by Christopher J. Raymond, will be showing at The Blank Theatre from December 1-10, Tuesday-Thursday at 8pm.
A Singular They Synopsis: Between dealing with an increasingly unsympathetic best friend, and pressure from their parents and doctors to surgically and chemically normalize their body, Burbank, an intersex teenager, just wants to find someone who “gets it.” They strike up a rapport with their biology teacher, young and handsome Mr. Mazer. He offers a sympathetic ear and opens Burbank’s eyes to a world outside their conservative suburban community, but after wrecking their social standing with their classmates, Burbank makes a request that goes far beyond the roles of teacher and student.
