 The 16th Annual Elvis Festival themed “Burning Love” fittingly represents the eternal flame Elvis fans have for the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley.
Held each year near the anniversary of Presley's death, which was August 16, 1977, the Festival will include 3 stages of Elvis tribute artists, fan club activities, a King of Cadillacs Car Show, Elvis karaoke and lip synch contests and more.
"King emulators" will shake, rattle, roll and sing in his honor in varying ways.
Highlighted is the Karaoke Fest 2015 Crème de la King Finals presented by Karaoke Scene Magazine. This event pits the top Elvis tribute artists selected from qualifying rounds throughout Southern California vying for over $1,000 in cash awards and prizes including bedding from The Elvis Presley Home Bedding Collection® and Burning Love candles from Magnificent Candles®.
Kirk Wall of Anaheim returns for his 16th year as the Festival Host. He will greet attendees, pose for photos and perform “Burning Love” with fire dancers to kick off the stage shows. In addition , Wall, a regular entertainer at Knott's Berry Farm with his band known as Krazy Kirk and the Hillbillies, will take on a different approach to honoring Presley performing Elvis bluegrass style.
Other Elvis Tribute Artists will perform a wide range of songs from Presley’s repertoire including selections from The Golden Records, the Grammy winning Gospel Album “How Great Thou Art,” the Aloha Concert, Elvis movies, the Madison Square Garden concert, GI Blues and from the Elvis vault.
Those without the singing chops, but have the looks and the moves, can enter the Hunk a Burnin’ Love Elvis Lip Synch Contest.
The event also includes the King of Cadillacs Show for cars ranging from 1950 to 1977 in honor of Presley’s passion for Cadillacs, King of Sundaes Ice Cream Eating Contest presented by Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlour and an Elvis Trivia Contest.
Gourmet food trucks will be serving up special menu items and include Baby’s Badass Burger's "Love Me Tender" Elvis burger with peanut butter, bacon and caramelized bananas Grilled Cheese Truck’s ”The Burning Love Melt” with peanut butter, Applewood smoked bacon, Nutella and banana Slices with cheese Crepes Bonaparte’s “ The Elvis” Crepe with peanut butter, banana, and bacon and Stick a Berry’s “Stuck on You” skewer with bananas, peanut butter, dipped in chocolate with bacon sprinkles.
Elvis Presley Fan Clubs: Jailhouse Rockers of California and All Shook Up from Nevada will have membership info as well as memorabilia and collectibles for sale.
In addition to the Elvis Presley stamp, set to be issued on August 12, the U.S. Postal Service will also be offering a special Festival pictorial cancellation and other Elvis themed products.
A stilt Elvis and Priscilla and Abbit the Average Elvis will provide strolling entertainment.
