 The Young Artist Jazz Series, produced by Barbara Brighton, began in spring of 1996 with the goal of providing a forum for local young jazz artists to showcase their talents in front of a live audience, while giving the community the opportunity to support and enjoy these musicians. The performers are selected mostly from recommendations made by teachers or musicians in mentoring positions.
This group met while studying at the
Jacob’s School of Music at Indiana University. Playing shows, recording albums, and touring on and off for the past two years, They have wowed audiences on a national level by blending the styles of music that they love.
