Yellow

YELLOW, a world premiere play by award-winning playwright Del Shores, chronicles a year in the life of what seems to be the perfect family in Vicksburg, Mississippi.

“Masterfully written and directed, this is Del Shores’ best ever!!" - Performing Arts LIVE

EXTENDED TO DECEMBER 19th !!

Bobby Westmoreland is a high school football coach, and his wife Kate is a respected therapist.  They have two ambitious children in high school; their son Dayne is the golden child and football star while their daughter Gracie is an aspiring actress who feels misunderstood at all times.

Gracie’s best friend is a young gay boy, Kendall, who shares her affinity for the theatre which puts him at odds with his abusive, fundamentalist mother, Sister Timothea.

“Masterfully written and directed, this is Del Shores’ best ever!!  This is a gripping story about a Southern family that takes you on a riveting ride following the perfect couple and their teenage children that includes jealousy, conflict, sibling rivalry, tragedy, emotional abuse, intolerance, fundamentalism, rejection and forgiveness.  A family secret rocks their world and throughout all the drama, humor is perfectly placed in a manner which is patented Del Shores.

The ensemble cast is as good as it gets! They all are terrific and hit their peaks at different times during the play, another masterful stroke! The set and lighting are spot on too.

If you have been waiting to see the play of the year, with one of the best ensemble casts to take the LA stage, this could be it!’ – Performing Arts LIVE (mn)
