We'll have a World Class Clarinetist, some 40's exhibition dancers, 4 very funny "clean and clever" senior comics, including yes, Funny Weatherman Fritz Coleman.. we'll feed you a 3 course lunch, we celebrate Birthdays, we give out prizes, and they'll even be a mini Senior Expo. Senior Comedy Afternoons is celebrating the 40’s and our Veterans on Sunday July 14th at the newly renovated Proud Bird Restaurant and Events Center at 11022 Aviation Blvd. in Los Angeles, near LAX. Doors open at 12:00 P.M. A 3 course served luncheon starts at 12:30. Our comedy cabaret show starts at 1:30. Everyone is encouraged to wear Red, White and Blue of course! A guided tour of the Air Park take place post show!
Comedians to perform are Fritz Coleman, NBC’s top weather reporter who’s made many an appearance on the Tonight Show and has won numerous awards for his comedy specials and his most recent project “Defying Gravity” a look at the joys of being over 50! Comedienne Cathy Ladman, whose comedy is described as “self-probing, anxiety-venting humor and a vehicle for “exposing personal neurosis” has also done 9 spots on the Tonight Show, had her own HBO Special Series and been a guest on many TV show such as Everyone Loves Raymond, Roseanne and Caroline in the City in addition to writing for the King Of Queens. She’s also an American Comedy Award Winner for Best Female Stand-Up Comic.
Steve Bruner is one of the most successful comedians in the business. You can see him regularly in clubs, on television, on corporate stages and on cruise ships. He’s been featured
On Showtime, A& E Network, ABC, Comedy Central, and has performed with some of the biggest acts in the business such as Ellen DeGeneres, Bill Engvall, Richard Lewis and the Pointer Sisters. He’s also written monologues for Leno and George Carlin is quoted as saying “with Steve on the menu get ready to be served a comedy feast for the discriminating laugher who wants to fill up on comedy…”til their stomach hurts!”.
Peter Chen, the “Asian Rodney Dangerfield” has been a working comic for 30 years and also an award winning documentarian with his film “Saving Face, a Documentary”.
In addition we’ll have the fabulous Hollywood Hotshots do some 40’s dance numbers you won’t soon forget! It Don’t Mean a Thing If It Ain’t Got That Swing!!
