The Tragedie of King Lear
A test of love is only the beginning of one old man's journey on the path to Hell. Considered by many to be William Shakespeare's greatest tragedy, Lear is about repercussions of pride and vanity that eventually lead to the fatal destruction of both the great king and all who are of real importance to him. Lear is a metaphorical epic--a story of violence, lust, betrayal, and madness.
Directed by Thomas F. Bradac, this production features master Shakespeare teacher and scholar Dennis Krausnick in the title role. One of the founding members of Massachusetts' prestigious Shakespeare & Co., Dennis is coming to Southern California for nine performances only. Rounding out the all-star cast is Michael Nehring as Gloucester, Carl Reggiardo as Kent, Evelyn Carol Case as Goneril, Kim Shively as Reagan, and Ryan Shively as Edmund.
