“The Symphony and the Dance” is the theme of the upcoming free La Mirada Symphony concert on February 19 at 3pm at the La Mirada Theatre. Featured music includes highlights from the opera "Goldorina," formerly known as "Olvera Street," by Southern California composer L. C. Harnsberger. The opera’s story revolves around the effort to save the iconic area from destruction in the 1920’s.
Acclaimed trumpter, Phillip Pacier, is the concert’s featured soloist, presenting selection of movements by composer Johann Nepomuk Hummel. The concert will close with Brahms’ Symphony No. 2, D Major, Op. 73.
