Los Angeles, CA (January 24, 2018) - JMTC Theatre will present Bob Brader’s award-winning, hit solo show, Spitting In The Face Of The Devil in association with the Whitefire Theatre Solofest 2018 on Sunday, February 25th at 7pm. After a successful tour of the US and Canada and following its win as Best Encore in the United Solo Theatre Festival, the largest solo theatre festival in the world, the critically acclaimed show, Spitting In The Face Of The Devil, makes its Los Angeles debut. Writer and Performer Bob Brader and Director and Developer Suzanne Bachner combine art and advocacy with JMTC Theatre and have sparked lively, touching conversations and action while touring this show all across Canada and the U.S. They are thrilled to bring Spitting In The Face Of The Devil to LA as part of the Whitefire Theatre Solofest 2018. A talk back will follow the show.

A powerful tale of personal survival and triumph that pertains to today's focus on sexual predators, Spitting In The Face Of The Devil is a 7-Time Best of Fest Award-Winner, including “Best Show” of the London Fringe and “Best Script” and “Best Encore” at NYC's United Solo Theatre Festival. Brader's daring, uplifting, often comedic play has garnered acclaim at the New York International, San Francisco, Orlando International, Victoria and Montreal Fringe Festivals. The show has been produced in San Francisco, Fresno and San Diego and now makes is LA debut in association with Whitefire Theatre’s Solofest 2018.

Bob Brader (Writer/Performer) is an award-winning actor, writer and monologist. Spitting In The Face Of The Devil, Bob’s acclaimed solo show, has won 7 Best of Awards including “Best Show of the London Fringe” and “Best Script” and “Best Encore” at the Untied Solo Theatre Festival. His new monologue, Smoker, had its world premiere at Theatre Row as part of United Solo, where it won the “Best Autobiographical Show” Award. Bob made his international debut at the London Fringe Festival with his 2nd solo show, Preparation Hex, a hemorrhoid tale and love story, which toured through Canada and played in NYC at the Directors Company and the United Solo Festival. Bob headlined the two-actor 2017 NYC run as well as the sold-out international touring production of CIRCLE (Most Daring Show, London Fringe). He was in the original cast of We Call Her Benny, in the revival of Sex Ed and performed in the recent tour and original five-month NYC run of BITE with JMTC Theatre, for which he is Executive Director. Film credits include Eat Me and Brooklyn in July. Bob trained with the Stella Adler Conservatory at the Tisch School of the Arts and is a member of SAG-AFTRA, the Dramatists Guild and the United Solo Academy.

Suzanne Bachner (Director/Developer) is an award-winning playwright and director. She is the director and developer of Bob Brader’s internationally acclaimed, award-winning solo shows including Spitting In The Face Of The Devil. Other solo show directing: Gloria Rosen’s award-winning Listen…Can You Hear Me Now? Sarah Elizabeth Greer’s Bio-Hazard: A Relative Comedy (United Solo Europe 2016), Canadian Burlesque star Rosie Bitts’ Stories of Love and Passion (US and Canadian tour) and her new play, The Good Adoptee (Best Autobiographical Script and Best Actress, United Solo). Playwriting and directing credits: CIRCLE (Sold-Out International Tour, “Most Daring Show” of the London Fringe), the long-running NYC cult hits, Icons & Outcasts and BITE and We Call Her Benny, which Broadway World called “the future of theatre”. Suzanne studied playwriting with Romulus Linney and Adrienne Kennedy and holds an MFA from the Actors Studio Drama School at the New School University. She is a member of the United Solo Academy and the Dramatists Guild.

Gwenn Morreale (Producer) has worked on many projects, in many capacities in NY & LA. She is thrilled to be working with JMTC Theatre once again, having been involved since its inception. Producing Credits: the world premiere of the hit rock musical London Calling (Hudson Theater), Better (Echo Theater Co), The Condition (Naked Angels, T@9, LA) TV: “Fameless”, “Full Court Pranks”.  Film: “Locked In" and the upcoming documentary "Freedom of the Pack." Directing includes the OOBR Award winning Twin Studies (JMTC Theatre).
