Some Enchanted Evening: A Night of Broadway Song & DanceInland Pacific Ballet celebrates the opening of its new studios with a one night only benefit, “Some Enchanted Evening: A Night of Broadway Song & Dance,” on Saturday, September 23, 7 p.m., at their new location in Montclair.

One Night Only!


IPB invites guests for an intimate cabaret evening hosted by Associate Director Jonathan Sharp (The Red Shoes, Carousel, The Rocky Horror Show Live, The Dance of the Vampires, Fiddler on the Roof), featuring live music and songs performed by Broadway stars Leslie Stevens (La Cage Aux Folles) and Perry Laylon Ojeda (On The Town, Blood Brothers, Imaginary Friends), and, of course, Inland Pacific Ballet dancers. In addition, guests will enjoy cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, desserts, and a silent/live auction. All proceeds benefit Inland Pacific Ballet’s 2017-2018 season of performances and educational outreach programs.

“We are thrilled to welcome everyone to our new home with this unique evening that brings some of the brightest stars of Broadway to Montclair,” says Victoria Koenig, Artistic Director of Inland Pacific Ballet. “Jonathan is graciously producing this intimate cabaret event and we are delighted that Leslie and Perry offered to perform along with our IPB Company dancers. This is a very special chance to be up close and mingle with these talented performers, support IPB, see our gorgeous new studios, and learn more about how we are developing the amazing talent that exists here in the Inland Empire.”

Inland Pacific Ballet, is a professional ballet company based in the Inland Empire region of Southern California. Over the past 21 years they have built Inland Pacific Ballet into the premier ballet company in the region, enjoying critical acclaim while performing the largest and most varied repertoire in the area. The Company’s repertoire includes such classics as A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Les Sylphides, Graduation Ball and Swan Lake Act II. Full length classical masterpieces include Giselle, Coppélia and a lavish production of The Nutcracker. Contemporary classics include seminal works by the legendary George Balanchine including Serenade, Concerto Barocco and Who Cares? and a growing body of original work that includes creative adaptations of much loved stories such as The Little Mermaid, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast and Dracula.

Jonathan Sharp was trained at National Academy of the Arts and the School of American Ballet, the official school of the New York City Ballet. While on full scholarship at SAB, he was trained by master teachers Stanley Williams, Peter Martins, Andrea Kramarevsky, Suzanne Ferrell, Alexandra Danilova, Suki Schorer, and Sean Lavery. After finishing his training there, he danced professionally with the Boston Ballet and the Pennsylvania Ballet. He was also a member of Stars of America Ballet (a touring group headlined by Robert La Fosse and Darci Kistler). He returned to NYC and appeared in the original casts of five Broadway shows: The Red Shoes, Carousel (1994 Tony winner for Best Revival), The Rocky Horror Show Live, The Dance of the Vampires and Fiddler on the Roof. He has also appeared on television as a contract player in the daytime drama Another World, as well as guest-starring on Law and Order and Gilmore Girls. Jonathan is a faculty member of Idyllwild Arts Academy, he also is an ABT Certified Teacher for Primary to Level 5.

On Broadway, Leslie Stevens originated the role of Anne in LA CAGE AUX FOLLES and appeared in VICTOR/VICTORIA with Julie Andrews. She was a soloist with Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, the Dayton Ballet under James Clouser, and a voracious student at the Shakespeare LAB at The Public Theatre in NYC. She has acted, danced and sung her way through three decades of diverse roles on Broadway, off-Broadway, on-camera, with LA Opera and in regional American theatre. Some recent favorites include Faye in CHAPTER TWO at Laguna Playhouse, Masha in VANYA, SONIA, MASHA and SPIKE at ICT, Lola in DAMN YANKEES with SDMT, Sally Slaton in PARADE with 3D Theatricals, Rita in STEEL PIER w MTW’s Reiner Reading Series. Leslie played Charity in SWEET CHARITY in two productions, which earned a CT Critic’s Circle Nomination and the B. Iden Payne Award for Best Actress. Leslie’s on-camera work includes leading roles in Feature films TROUBLED CHILD (currently on Lifetime Movie Network) and THRESHOLD (2016), several festival-winning short films - and TV guest appearances on True Blood, Criminal Minds, Private Practice, The Fosters, Revenge and recurring roles on the Young & the Restless, Bosch and Goliath.

Perry Laylon Ojeda premiered his new solo cabaret act earlier this summer, Perry Laylon Ojeda sings COMDEN & GREEN at the Coachella Valley Rep in Rancho Mirage and now will continue touring the country with his concert later this year. On Broadway, Mr. Ojeda appeared in On the Town, Blood Brothers and Imaginary Friends. In London's West End in the World War II drama Dolly West’s Kitchen. Off-Broadway in Die, Mommie, Die! and Babes In Arms (City Center ENCORES!, also Original Cast Recording). He acted in the National Tours of Blood Brothers, Camelot and My One and Only. Regionally, he has been seen recently at the Ahmanson Theater/CTG in Los Angeles, South Coast Rep, Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival, The Old Globe, Goodspeed Opera House, San Jose Rep, Cleveland Playhouse, Arena Stage, Pittsburgh CLO, Orlando Shakespeare Festival, and Ogunquit Playhouse, among others. Television & Film credit include: Imagination Movers, Desperate Housewives, Eli Stone, Days Of Our Lives, One Life To Live, All My Children, Guiding Light, The Day Lincoln Was Shot, Pride, The Beginner’s Guide To Snuff.
