A professional photography exhibition entitled “Shanghai, the City of Innovation, 2017” will be featured in the South Pasadena Public Library Community Room from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., beginning on Sunday, May 28th.
The exhibit will be closed all day on May 29th in observance of Memorial Day. The exhibit will be open again on Tuesday, May 30th Wednesday May 31st, and Thursday, June 1st when the viewing hours will be 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. For its last day on Friday, June 2nd the exhibit will be open from 4 p.m. until 5 p.m.
Displayed in the exhibition will be significant photographic artworks by four highly accomplished American photographers who participated in the “Shanghai, in the Eyes of the World” professional competition. The contest was held as part of “Flying over Shanghai”, a virtual reality spectacular to “bring the human visual experiences to their utmost.”
The “Shanghai, the City of Innovation, 2017” photo exhibit is free and open to the public and will showcase about 80 stunning photos in commemoration of the 45th anniversary of the “Shanghai Communique”. The project is co-sponsored by the Shanghai Municipal Government, South Pasadena Public Library, The South Pasadena Chinese American Club, EDI Media, The South Pasadena Public Library Community
and the Friends of the South Pasadena Public Library who will provide refreshments for the Opening Reception on May 28 at 4:00 p.m. The project has also been supported by the County of Los Angeles and the County of San Bernardino. The South Pasadena Library Community Room is located at 1115 El Centro Street.
