The Ojai Art Center presents the critically acclaimed violin and piano duo, Chavdar Parashkevov and Natasha Kislenko, performing Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, and Mahler.  Bulgarian violinist Chavdar Parashkevov has captivated audiences throughout Europe and the US with his “sensual artistic approach, sensitivity, and virtuosic technique.”  He has won numerous prizes at national and international competitions.  These include First Prize in the National Competition "Svetoslav Obretenov" – Provadia, and First Prize in "Young Talents Competition" in Sofia.   Mr. Parashkevov has soloed with many symphony orchestras, including those in Turkey, Houston, and Bulgaria. He regularly appears in recital and chamber music performances throughout the United States, Ukraine, Russia, Turkey, Italy, and Denmark.
Currently, he combines performing and teaching careers, and plays for the Houston Grand Opera and Houston Ballet Orchestras.  Moscow-born pianist Natasha Kislenko, well known to the Art Center’s audience, has won international awards at piano competitions in Germany, France, the Slovak Republic, Italy, and Portugal.

Ms. Kislenko made her Carnegie Hall solo recital debut after taking the Grand Prize at the Missouri Southern International Piano Competition in 1996.  She has concertized extensively as a soloist and a chamber musician throughout Russia, Europe and the United States.  Ms. Kislenko is currently on the Keyboard faculty at UC Santa Barbara. She has also been a faculty member for summer festivals at the Meadowmount School of Music, NY (2003) as well as the Music Academy of the West, CA (2004-present).  Over the years, Ms. Kislenko has developed a vast repertoire extending from the Baroque era to the present.  Mr. Parashkevov and Ms. Kislenko have recently released a new CD, “Russian Sonatas,” with three major sonatas by Prokofiev, Schnittke and Nikolayev.
