The Palos Verdes Peninsula Chapter of Mu Phi Epsilon presents their annual Musical Mosaic concert, which features a variety of professional musicions in a fund-raiser concert for music education. Performers include the Loucks Duo, the Mu Phi Four, Andrew Moses, The Ceora Winds and the Palos Verdes Peninsula High School Chorus and Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Daniel Doctor.
Irena Krechkovsky of the Loucks Duo will perform on the legendary "Baumgartner" Stradivarius, which was loaned to her as a top-prize winner in the recent Canadian Arts Council Competition. She and pianist Kevin Kwan Loucks will be performing the Brahms "Scherzo in C Minor" and selections from "Porgy and Bess" by Gershwin/Heifetz. The Mu Phi Four--violinist Gail Gerding Mellert, flutist, Pat Maki, and pianists, Pat Harpole and Lois Tai--will showcase selections from Benjamin Britten's "Gemini Variations". Andrew Moses, a thirteen year old clarinetist and 2012 winner of the prestigious Beverly Hills Auditions, will perform works by Cahuzac and Kovacs. The Ceora Winds with flutist Michelle Matsumune, clarinetist Heather Millett and bassoonist Christian Phelps Webb, will perform "Carteles" by Miguel Jimenez.
