Love Allways

Love AllwaysCouples fall in and out of love. Some couples stay in love in this comedy by Renee Taylor and Joseph Bologna. L.A. Premiere

WHAT: Love Allways. A new evening of romantic comedy. LOS ANGELES PREMIERE engagement.
WHO: Written by Renee Taylor and Joseph Bologna. Director/Executive Producer: Gloria Gifford. Produced by Chad Doreck, Lauren Plaxco and Jade Warner.

Love Allways is an evening comprised of short plays about the follies and foibles of love and lovers. The subjects of love and romance have long provided great source material for comedy, and the stories presented here emerge from the pens of two proven masters of American comedy, Renee Taylor and Joseph Bologna. They have enjoyed distinguished careers as partners in performance and in writing, as well as in life. They won an Emmy® Award for writing Acts of Love and Other Comedies and were nominated for an Oscar® for their screenplay for Lovers and Other Strangers. They’ve written eleven plays together, among them Bermuda Avenue Triangle If You Ever Leave Me, I’m Going With You Made For Each Other It Had to Be You and more. With busy careers in film, television and Broadway, they’ve defied the Hollywood odds with a marriage that’s lasted 51 years (so far).

Gloria Gifford directs and serves as executive producer for Love Allways. The New York and Broadway- trained director/actress/teacher received an M.A. from the New School, where she studied Criminology after graduating with a degree in Political Science from SUNY New Paltz.  She has directed over 75 stage productions, including On Golden Pond (with Salome Jens and Andrew Prine), Our Lady of 121st St.  (L.A. Times Critic’s Choice), Much Ado About Nothing, The Tempest, Romantic Comedy, A Bed and a Bar, Summer and Smoke, Wait Until Dark, and many more. A veteran actor with credits on Broadway, in hit films (opposite Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy, John Candy and Tobey Maguire), and recurring roles on four TV series, she has also been known as an acting coach to emerging stars and as the producer of the Rebel Planet Short Film Festival in Hollywood.

Her company of actors for Love Allways includes Hayley Ambriz, Michael Barker, George Benedict, Raven Bowens, Jeff Hamasaki Brown, Billy Budinich, Aaron Burriss, Marlin Chan, Leana Chavez, Heather Compton, Haile D’Alan, Nadeem Deeb, Yvette DeVito, Sonia Diaz, Chad Doreck, Justine Estrada, Joshua Farmer, Joe Filippone, Lindy Fujimoto, Dylan George, Irini Gerakas, Keturah Hamilton, Chris Jones, Genevieve Joy, Abigail Kochunas, McKenzie Kruse, Christian Maltez, Maya Moore, Kelly Musslewhite, Tracey Nelson, Benito Paje, Nakta Pahlevan, Kasia Pilewicz, Lauren Plaxco, Antonio Roccucci, Gershon Roebuck, Cynthia San Luis, Nevada Schaefer, Deidra Shanell, Danny Siegel, Tejah Signori, Samiyah Swann, Justin Truesdale, Andres Uribe, Nancy Vivar, Keith Walker, Lucy Walsh, Jade Warner, Teagan Wilson and Diva Yazdian.

Stage managers: Justin Truesdale, Keith Walker. Set design: Gloria Gifford. Lighting design: Chris Rivera. Hair/Make-up: Kasia Pilewicz.

The evening is, by turns, as outrageous, hilarious, heartwarming and sexy as love itself. It is, above all, fun.

To paraphrase the line from a classic old song, you’ll be loving Love Allways.
