LISTEN - Powerful stories about Los Angeles Youth told through music and dance. December 13 at 4:30 & 8pm at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in conjunction with The Advot Project
LISTEN invites you to meet 7 extraordinary young people who have survived and thrived on the streets of Los Angeles. Told in their own words, this is a special evening of theatrical storytelling with music and dance about the Los Angeles few of us see.
The performance is approximately 45 minutes and after the audience will have the opportunity to meet and ask questions of the young performers and share their thoughts about Los Angeles.
The Advot Project empowers young people particularly from disadvantaged backgrounds to take control of their destiny by teaching them communication skills and healthy relationships through the arts. Through a variety of unique interactive programs, participants become better communicators, learn how to discover and then declare their own self-worth by developing the capacity to exhibit greater kindness and compassion first for themselves and then with others. We believe individuals have a right to live free of fear and violence, and be respected for who they are.
Together we can, and will make the world a better place.
We hope the evening will inspire you to Listen, to Act, to Change so we can create a community where no child has to grow up alone. #notalone
