LevittLA will kick off its 6th Annual 50 Summer Concerts Series on July 5 at 7:00 pm. The kick off celebration launches a musical lineup featuring Grammy-winners and world-renowned artists with FREE concerts Thursdays through Sundays, July 6 through September 9, 20l2 at the beautiful MacArthur Park Pavilion. All Thursday through Sunday evenings begin at 7:00 p.m. and the children’s shows on Sundays begin at 4:00 p.m. unless otherwise noted.
There will be a food court, featuring artisanal foods from local, independent food-based businesses and vendors and non-profit organizations every night of the summer concerts. Concertgoers are also welcome to bring their own food. A full calendar listing of artists and times is available at www.levittla.org
“In the hierarchy of L.A.'s outdoor amphitheaters, the humble Levitt Pavilions in MacArthur Park and Pasadena are often overlooked in favor of glitzier cousins in Hollywood and Los Feliz. But maybe they shouldn't be.” – Los Angeles Times
In recent years, the LevittLA has also served as a venue to showcase local talent. “Last year we saw record breaking attendance,” says Eddie Cota, Artistic Director, “and this year’s schedule will feature programming on par with the best-known live music venues in LA.” This season’s artists include the Brazilian hip-hop sounds of Criolo, the African hip-hop beat of SMOD, the Indie pop/rock group Fools Gold and many more international flavors and artists.
