In his new show, writer-director David Wally sets his sights on the subject of human relations, more specifically, connection vs. alienation. The seven scenes deal with people in a community who are somehow connected to each other. Some of the connections are close, some are distant. Some are personal, some are professional. But the quality in the connections is sometimes lacking (hence the word “alienation” in the title).

Three women in a television production company have closer ties to their boss than perhaps is wise; A dad has drifted somewhat away from his teenage kids; A philandering husband is soon to get his come-uppance; Two pals who get together to watch a basketball game find out how few shared viewpoints they really have; A man becomes embittered after being laid off from work for an extended period, alarming his wife; A woman is startled to discover that she actually knows the homeless guy in the park; A lesbian becomes aware of approaching events that may threaten her future with her partner, as the two make plans for a romantic weekend.
We all want to make a human connection. Can we get what we want?

Wally’s cast includes Kalimba Bennett, Michelle Bernard, Jay Bingham, David M. Edelstien, Anne Marie Howard, Gregor Manns, Devon Ogden, Jesse Pilchen, Juan Pope, Sarah Schreiber, Billy Snow, Lilah Wally and Stella V. Wilkins.

David Wally was executive producer of the feature film “Hostage” (starring Bruce Willis) and co-producer of “Meet Joe Black” (starring Brad Pitt and Anthony Hopkins). Last year, he scored a success with his long-running stage comedy “Six Degrees of Fornication” at the Whitefire Theatre. His new play expands his attentions beyond just sex and turns them toward all the ways in which we communicate with each other. Fans of his last play will be back. He’ll  also get a whole new audience with this show.
