Dial "M" for Murder

Dial The Group Rep presents Frederick Knott’s “Dial “M” for Murder” directed by Bruce Kimmel, produced by Mannette Antill.

In this mystery thriller play that inspired Hitchcock’s suspense classic, a cunning man marries a wealthy woman for her money and plans to murder her to get her fortune.

The man devises a perfect murder, blackmails a criminal and arranges a brilliant alibi. To say more about a twisty and surprising thriller simply wouldn't be sporting, would it?

This exciting mystery thriller had a highly successful run on Broadway.

What critics have said about the play:

"…original and remarkably good theatre-quiet in style but tingling with excitement underneath." –The New York Times

"It's a holiday for the whodunit fans, and…it couldn't be more welcome." - NY Herald-Tribune

What critics have said about the Group Rep production:

“WOW! Stylishly directed, classily designed…” - StageSceneLA

“…powerful, captivating and entertaining as it has ever been… performed by a five star cast that make Dial ‘M’ for Murder one of the most compelling shows on stage in Los Angeles right now.”  – Huntington Beach News & LA Post Examiner

“Audiences who go expecting a tried and true, traditionally-rendered British mystery full of genre conventions won’t be disappointed and will be dialing ‘E’ for escapist entertainment.” – Hollywood Progressive & FreePress.org

The play features the talents of Doug Haverty (A Dull Pain Turned Sharp GRT, Welcome to Heretofore Hollywood Fringe 2017) Michael Robb (The Real Thing Two Roads Theater, A Slight Ache Upstairs at GRT)  Adam Jonas Segaller (“1:00 P.M. Central Standard Time” narrated by George Clooney, Emmy-winning “The Men Who Built America” )  Carrie Schroeder (stars in Nickelodeon’s “I am Frankie” premiering Fall 2017,  Poe  Deaf West Theatre)  and Justin Waggle (Urinetown  Morgan-Wixson Theatre,  South Pacific Glendale Centre Theatre.)

The play features incidental music by Emmy-nominated guitarist composer Grant Geissman a former member of Chuck Mangione’s band, who most notable composed the TV theme songs for “Two and a Half Men” and “Mike & Molly.”

The design team includes J. Kent Inasy (Set & Lighting Design), Angela M. Eads (Costume Design), Steve Shaw (Sound Design), and Doug Engalla (Photographer/Videographer)
