Dark of the Moon

Dark of the MoonSet in the Appalachian Mountains near Ol' Baldy, Dark of the Moon is an immersive thriller that follows John the Witch Boy and Barbara, a Human, as they fight for love among the terrifying worlds of Witches and equally colorful residents of Buck Creek.

Elysium Conservatory Theatre roars into the Summer with a fantastical re-imagining of The Ballad of Barbara Allen. Set in the Appalachian Mountains near Ol' Baldy, Dark of the Moon is an immersive thriller that follows John the Witch Boy and Barbara, a Human, as they fight for love among the terrifying worlds of Witches and equally colorful residents of Buck Creek.
Elysium Conservatory Theatre Artistic Director Aaron Ganz has chosen to delve into the realms of Good and Evil, legend and imagination. Dark of the Moon is the next, great Elysium fantasy brought to dazzling life in all its romantic, comedic, and heartbreaking glory.
Director Ganz received his M.F.A. from the Institute for Advanced Theater Training/Moscow Art Theater School at Harvard University along with his B.F.A. from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. His previous directing credits with ECT include Romeo and Juliet, Cymbeline (aboard the Battleship Iowa), Joan of Arc, Wouldn’t It Be Lovely and The Lady of Shalott. His other directing credits include A Streetcar Named Desire, The Phantom Lady, Uncle Vanya, and The Front Page. He is also an actor.
ECT’s cast for Dark of the Moon includes Kate Slinger as Barbara Allen, Justin Powell as John, Rob Miller, Roxana Sanchez, Charlotte Spangler, Gerard Alvarez, Brian Raetz, Melissa Ortiz, Christopher Lyons, Francesca Gamez, Giulia Blandino, Tim Roberts, Robert Watson and Aaron Ganz as Preacher Haggler.
