A Concert For World Peace - A Tribute to Journalist Daniel Pearl

One of the most bold and versatile chamber groups in the country, the Viklarbo Chamber Ensemble presents an exciting, eclectic program in a music tribute to slain Wall Street Journalist Daniel Pearl.
All proceeds benefit the Daniel Pearl Foundation.

In the spirit of Danny's love of music and commitment to dialogue, the Daniel Pearl Foundation launched the first Daniel Pearl World Music Days on October 10, 2002, which would have been Danny's 39th birthday. Using the power of music to promote tolerance and inspire respect for differences, Daniel Pearl World Music Days has grown to include more than 4,900 performances in 101 countries.
For the second year, the Jewish Music Commission of Los Angeles and Valley Beth Shalom join Daniel Pearl World Music Days to present this concert in conjunction with over 800 concerts happening worldwide each October in memory of the slain journalist, Daniel Pearl.  This year we are proud to feature the critically acclaimed Viklarbo Chamber Ensemble in a concert for world peace. The program will include music by Michael Fitzpatrick, Bohuslav Martinu, Maria Newman, Zikmund Schel and Johannes Brahms.
