Artists Los Angeles Philharmonic  Gustavo Dudamel conductor About This Performance Although Mahler did begin composing yet another symphony, his Ninth feels like a valedictory piece, filled as it is with sighing gestures and a time-stopping finale of rumination and resignation. It's hard to overstate the emotions it engenders.
