Grammy™ Award-winning pianist Gloria Cheng starts off the Piano Spheres seventeenth season on Tuesday, September 28 at 8:00 pm. Her half-European, half-American program includes three world premieres by James Newton, Daniel Godfrey, and Gernot Wolfgang as well as works by Thomas Adès, Claude Vivier, Pierre Boulez and Olivier Messiaen.

This new Baroque ensemble comprised of specialists of the period and members of the Pomona College Department of Music include: Alfred Cramer, baroque violin; Roger Lebow, baroque cello; Carolyn Beck, baroque bassoon and Graydon Beeks, harpsichord. Ms. Lee has presented recitals from Merkin Concert Hall (New York City) to the Salle Gaveau (Paris), has soloed with orchestras, is a founding member of the Mojave Trio, and been heard in performances with LA’s XTET.
The program includes music by Couperin, Brahms, Debussy, Tom Flaherty and Ge Gan-Ru.
